Book Review: Covet

Title:  Covet
Author:  Melissa Darnell
Where I got it:  From NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review

Amazon Summary:

Dangerous to be together. Painful to be apart.

Savannah Colbert knows she broke up with Tristan Coleman for the right reasons. Most of all, to keep from killing him with her new vampire abilities. But try telling her heart. Now, lost in a sea of hostile Clann faces, Sav tries to come to terms with what she's becoming and what that means for her future. And that someone is doing their best to bully her into making a terrible mistake.

Tristan can't believe Sav won't even talk to him. If being apart is her decision, fine. Just don't expect him to honor it. But even as he prepares to fight for the girl he loves, forces beyond their control take them both in directions neither could have foreseen or prepared for.

A reckoning is coming…and not everyone will survive.

My Thoughts:
*This will definitely contain spoilers for Crave, you’ve been warned!

Savannah and Tristan have never understood why they can’t be together.  Until Savannah discovers that she’s a unique hybrid of vampire and witch, and no one knows how her abilities will shake out.  After being harassed by the vampire council and her family attacked by the Clann, Savannah has no real choice but to keep her promise to break up with Tristan.  The peace treaty between their families and his life are more important than her heart…  Or at least that’s what she tries to remember.  But her vampire abilities are continuing to grow, distancing her from her friends, and as relations between witches and vampires deteriorate, her life just keeps getting harder and harder.

The entire time I’ve read this series, all I’ve ever wanted was for something to work out for Tristan and Sav, because they are the poster children for adorable couples that you want to see happy.  I never in my wildest dreams imagined the crazy events of Covet, or how both of their worlds would be completely torn apart.  This is a fantastic continuation of The Clann series, and I am seriously dying for the next book.
