Amazon Summary:
It has been a busy few weeks for Private Kaylin Neya. In between angling for a promotion, sharing her room with the last living female Dragon and dealing with more refugees than anyone knew what to do with, the unusual egg she'd been given began to hatch. Actually, that turned out to be lucky, because it absorbed the energy from the bomb that went off in her quarters.…
So now might be the perfect time to leave Elantra and journey to the West March with the Barrani. If not for the disappearances of citizens in the fief of Tiamaris—disappearances traced to the very Barrani Kaylin is about to be traveling with…
My Thoughts:
When I grow up, I want to be Kaylin and live in Elantra. Because I can’t imagine many places cooler, or many more snarky fun girls to be. Elantra is a land of magic, mystery, and some wickedly awesome species, including dragons and lions (like, as talking people). And Kaylin is snarky, naïve, clumsy, and utterly hilarious. I’ve loved this series since the very first book, but Cast in Peril really took me back to the early books in the series when I couldn’t put the book down at all, no matter what was going on around me.
Somehow, Kaylin ended up with a dragon sharing her extremely small apartment, and an egg that was “born” instead of a baby after a magical disturbance. Needless to say, things are not going well. Especially when she’s tasked with travelling to the Barrani recitation, which requires manners, and court dress. Not to mention travelling with Barrani. Nothing is ever easy in Elantra.
You guys, if you haven’t at least given this series a chance, what are you waiting for??? Because really, the latest installment is just awesome. Loved. It.
