I’m a romantic fiction author writing strong contemporary romance and characters you’ll fall in love with. I live in the UK with my husband (Mr Big), my two daughters and two cats (Kravitz and Springsteen). I am a member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association and in January 2012 I signed my first US published novel, Taking Charge, with Sapphire Star Publishing.
What was your favorite book as a child?
I loved everything by Enid Blyton. The Faraway Tree and The Wishing Chair stories, Malory Towers and St Clare’s and of course the Famous Five adventures!
What’s your favorite book as an adult?
I don’t have one book that stands out as a favorite. I tend to enjoy romance the most but I do read other genres – I love a good thriller. I rarely re-read a book, even one I’ve really enjoyed. I don’t keep paperbacks unless they are signed by the author. I tend to pass them on to friends or donate them to charity.
Did you always want to write?
Writing has been a big part of my life since my school days. I wrote all through high school, in the evenings, at weekends, whenever I had a spare moment but I never thought I would end up being a writer! In the beginning I was too scared to submit my stories anywhere, I purely wrote for the enjoyment and escapism of it. It’s brilliant to be able to make something you love so much turn into a career.
Sweet treats or salty snacks?
SALTY!! I am a big savory food fan! Chips, fries, savory pastries - I am a lover of a buffet!
Dogs or cats?
Cats – I have two! Dogs need walking and you have to pick up their poop! Cats just need a stroke and a cuddle and someone to feed them – a bit like humans!
Dog ears, bookmarks, or random items?
All three of those!
What is the best thing about being a writer?
Being able to create characters and situations that touch readers.
Tell us one thing we wouldn’t know just by looking at you?
You can’t tell from looking at me that I love to sing but a few seconds searching me on You Tube and you will get all you need to know and more! LOL! I love to do karaoke and I’ve auditioned for The X Factor and been on a TV show in the UK called Who Dares Sings. Where there’s a microphone you will find Lady Baggot!
