Amazon Summary:
The night of Samhain may be behind them, but Yuki and her friends have only begun to face the challenges of their paranormal gifts. Tensions are rising--in the pack, at school, and within their tightly knit group of friends.
The tragic death of Wakefield High student Dylan Jacobs has emotions boiling over. The J-Team, Yuki's arch nemesis, have turned the entire football team against her. They claim that Yuki is a witch and blame her for the death of their fellow teammate. Will Yuki be able to solve the mystery of Dylan's death, and the legend of Witchtrot Road, before tempers flare and things turn violent?
Surviving agitated ghosts, irritated witches, angry werewolves, and the horrors of high school has never been so hard.
My Thoughts:
I fell in love with this series with the first book. I love the concept, and the different approach to a paranormal storyline. Because seriously, smelling dead people? Yeah, I'm far from creative enough to think of something like that, but it totally works.
Yuki smells dead people. In "scent impressions" that tend to give her clues about how to help them or about who the smell belongs to. So when she starts smelling Dylan's scent impression after he is supposedly killed by the legendary ghost on Witchtrot Road, she knows that she has to try to help him. Meanwhile, her werewolf boyfriend Cal is dealing with new rivalries in the pack, and trying to keep them from coming to a fight, and her BFF Emma's got... well, something going on.
This book more than any other in the series was a really cool blend of paranormal and real world. I totally enjoyed it, and it left about a million questions that I hope are answered in the next book! This is a really great series, so if you haven't checked it out yet, what are you waiting for????
